Coach background-check checklist

A director's list before a coach is assigned a team. This page does not run a background check, store results, or give legal advice. Your league or facility sets the actual requirement.

• Legal name matches the coaching assignment
• Role is head coach, assistant, or volunteer, written down
• Government ID checked against the name on the roster
• Background-check receipt or clearance is on file for this season
• Clearance date is inside your league or facility window
• Abuse-prevention training certificate is on file if your league requires it
• Emergency contact for the coach is stored
• The coach can message families only inside the club system
• A second adult is named for any session with minors
• The director, not the coach, marks the file complete
